John 15:16-17 (ESV) – “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you. These things I command you, so that you will love one another.”
Vulnerability always gets a bad rap. Our society has equated vulnerability with weakness and has conditioned us to believe the lie, that we will only achieve true happiness and success, when we are fully in control of our lives. We place walls thick enough around our hearts; even a professional thief couldn’t break in.
But this is not the true representation of vulnerability. In vulnerability, strength and freedom can be found, in fully letting go of control and submitting to the One who breathed the universe into life.
Vulnerability is letting go of control to let God take you on the greatest adventure of faith, and revelation of His power.
Our lack of vulnerability directly translates to a lack of trust.
The times when God calls you to the most intimidating and risky things are usually the very things He uses to reveal the greatest glory.
Relinquishing control, being stripped and left completely naked and vulnerable allows the Lord to come in and clothe you with such a beautiful covering of grace as you reflect His Spirit and glory.
Letting it all go and saying ‘yes’ to wherever God leads and whatever He wants, might be the most frightening thing you’ll ever do, but it will result in an abundance of life in the freedom of Christ.
You become no longer restricted by your physical limitations and the lies of unbelief. You see bigger, clearer and begin to grasp the magnitude of serving a God who is capable of literally anything.
Being vulnerable is painful, because you are left bare, forced to deal with hidden pain, struggles, sins and lies that have held you captive for far too long. Yet, it opens the door to healing and liberation, to allow you to move forward in life with no strings of the past holding you back or pulling you down.
Vulnerability takes you to a place of intimacy and reliance on the Lord that opens doors you never thought possible. It gives you a peace and satisfaction knowing that you’re resting in the arms of the One who will truly never let you fall.
Whatever God is calling you to, whatever He has placed in your heart, have the faith to believe that He will see it through, and speak it into existence. Find the strength to stand before the Lord, completely vulnerable, ready to lay it all down, and trade your dreams, for a better dream, the dreams that are handcrafted by a limitless God who doesn’t operate under our humanly constraints.

2 Corinthians 1:20-22 (NIV) – “For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so, through him the “Amen”, is spoken by us to the glory of God. Now it is God who makes both us, and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.”
